Dan Ariely the author of this book Met with an accident where 70 % of his body was burned badly... Almost for three years, he was admitted to the hospital where he had to go through a very painful procedure. that was removing the bandages from the body... it's hard to bear the pain of removal of bandages when a person has skin then just think what would be the condition of the author whose skin was burnt.

Daily the author used to beg the nurse for mercy and daily the nurse would remove the bandages starting from legs to head ......this procedure was dreadful for the author and he would cry in pain.

Daily when the nurse would arrive he used to please her to try something new which would decrease his pain but the nurse as always followed the same ...

When Dan after three years came out of the hospital he joined a university... there he got a golden opportunity to investigate and research about the ways which would decrease the pain which he had gone through and suffered... he started the studies and found out that if the nurse would start removing the bandages from his head towards his legs then the pain would have decreased....how was that possible...it was that the most sensitive skin is on our face so if the nurse would have started right from the head to toe the pain would have felt decreasing to the author... it was not that the nurse wanted the author to suffer but just a wrong decision of the nurse-led his three years most dreadful...

Now the author wanted to know more about this and started to investigate how decisions play an important role in any individuals life....then he came upon such irrational habits or behavior, which were predictable and were bad for humans

The biggest reason that came out to be was the problem of procrastination... To know more about procrastination refer to The book summary of "Eat that frog"

We all do the work in the time given to us... sounds obvious... but do you know what that means.... it means even if we are given a task that can be done within 10 mins...we tend to complete it only in the last hour of the deadline we are given.....

Almost every average human has a habit of procrastination which really decreases their performance and results... it's not that we all do it knowingly but it's just human nature to procrastinate tough and difficult things....and this habit sometimes leads to aa and an increase in their performances and last time anxiety and stress.....

Just to prove his point the author divided his class students into three groups...

They were told to be awarded positive grades if they finish the assignments on time and if not then they will be rewarded negative marks now group students were told to decide their own deadlines group B students were not given any deadline to submit an assignment for Group C students they were given a particular deadline for the submission what results to you expect through this activity author proved that if we have a certain amount of deadlines we can give our best to complete it group students performed moderately because they were asked for an end date but of their own choice Group C students were the best each and every student submitted the project on that day of deadline where is Group b students perform the worst because they were not given any and date so the procrastinator things and one negative marks were awarded to them......

So the conclusion comes out that it's very important for us to give end dates or deadlines to ourselves even though it's not good to procrastinate but actually it's more important to complete the task...

Also to give your best you can start with the most difficult and hard tasks first because after you complete the hardest one first the rest looks east and that can motivate you to complete it.

Now if you can connect that why taking out bandages from the head to toe was a better way ....doing hard things first can give ourselves a feeling of satisfaction and motivation to do things left undone.
